Membership Admission Information
Welcome Prospective Members and Proposers,
Thank you for sharing your interest in becoming a member of SHYC! We are in the process of rolling out a new website and membership portal. As a result, our 2025 Membership Application will not be available online until late 2024 or early 2025.
In the meantime, please share some preliminary information about you and/or your family by filling out our SHYC Membership Interest Form. We will contact you as soon as our 2025 Membership Application becomes available.

2025 APPLICATION PROCESS & TIMELINE
Please note that while we do not have a waitlist at the moment, we are regularly assessing our membership numbers and are committed to ensuring that we are able to provide the best sailing and social experience for our members. Once the 2025 Membership Application is live on our new website, we will be asking that you take the following steps to apply for membership:
- Fill out the 2025 Membership Application. Applications will be due by February 1, 2025.
- Identify two existing SHYC members who can propose your candidacy and support your application. Please ask your two proposers to fill out the Proposer Form. If you do not have a proposer, we will be happy to discuss other options available to you during the interview process. You will have a chance to note this on your application.
- Take part in a Zoom interview with our Membership Committee. You will receive an email with options for available dates and times once your Membership Application and two Proposer Forms have been submitted.
Our application timeline is as follows:
Late Fall 2024/Early Winter 2025: Applications open; interviews will take place through the winter.
February 1: Last date for Application submission for Summer 2025.
March 15: Membership Invitations are sent via email.
April 15: Initiation and Annual Dues payments due.
