Adult Sailing Programs

Stage Harbor Sailing School offers a variety of Adult focused classes and racing opportunities. Our adult program is a great way for our members to get back into a sport they loved as a child or learn something completely new. Learn more about our offerings below.

Introduction to Sailing for Adults

Mondays and Wednesdays, 1330-1530

This class is intended for adults who are new to sailing and would like to learn the basics - including rigging, parts, sailing upwind and downwind, boat control, right of way, safety and more - in a fun group setting. Sailing School staff accompany the adults in Day Sailers for further instruction. Registration is required and is available by the week, the session, or the season.

Adult Instruction and Fun Sail

Mondays and Wednesdays, 1330-1530

Adult Fun Sails are offered  every Monday and Wednesday afternoons and no registration or experience is required. The Fun Sails feature a 90-minute sail in our Club Day Sailers. Sailing School staff usually accompany the Fun Sails in either a chase boat or the Day Sailers.

Ladies Series

Fridays, 1030-1200 (Day Sailers)

Friday Ladies Races is a great opportunity to come out for a friendly few races. Club boats are available on a first come first serve basis. Come join the fun every Friday morning. If you would like to crew, please contact our Program Director, and he will try to make arrangements for you.

Private Instruction, Recreational Sailing & Club Boat Usage

Members may use Club boats for private instruction. Please refer to our Private Lesson page for more detail. Adults may use Club boats recreationally while a SHSS staff member is on duty.
