Question of the week: A lot of parents have been asking about private lessons for their children (and themselves). Private sailing lessons help many sailing school students brush the cobwebs off from a winter spent away from sailing or help sailors develop skills that need special focus. We encourage parents to reach out to Chris Beard to discuss staff availability and to help find the best match for students. These lessons take place outside of Sailing School and are not part of the Sailing School. For more information visit http://www.shyc.com/private-lesson-information

What a Fantastic Week!
A great turnout for the All Member Party, a Successful Sailing School Auction, a Fun 4th of July Parade and an Awesome Opti Regatta!
Congratulations to all our Opti Sailors who participated in the 23rd Annual Regatta! Thank you to all the Member volunteers who helped make it a wonderful day! This Week's Activities: Chatham Shellfish Nursery Visits!
Join us this Monday and Tuesday for a special Lunch@SHYC learning opportunity… A field trip to the Chatham Shellfish Nursery, right next door to SHYC! We will learn how shellfish are grown from seed, and even get to touch them inside their tanks. There are 3 million baby sea creatures living right next door to us… who knew?
Bring your bag lunch to the Club and join us for a hands-on experience that is one of the favorite moments or our lunch program every summer. While sign ups are not necessary, please email me to let me know if your child is coming so I can have enough staff on hand to chaperone. There is a $5 dollar fee for Lunch@SHYC, due to staffing costs. You will see it on your bill at the end of the summer.

Speaker Series This Coming Tuesday
5:30-8:30pm
A History of One Boat Design
Please join us at First Light Boatworks (43 Eliphamets Lane) for a special evening of sailing the original wooden sailboats of SHYC and featuring Richard D. Batchelder Jr speaking about the history of SHYC's one design wooden boat heritage from the designs of F. Spaulding Dunbar.
Hot dogs and burgers will be served with craft beers.
Parking is limited to several spots in the boatyard parking lot, and on Hallett Lane. Please carpool, walk or boat over if you can.

A note about Directories and Profiles: Calendars and Directories were mailed to winter addresses in mid-May, please contact Claire Hooper if there were any issues with your delivery. If you need to update your information, please fill out the contact info form here. Please note we use this information for the directory listings, so please do not change the contact names on your profiles (as in putting one spouse's name in two different profiles) unless there is a name change or correction for that specific member, each member of your family should have his or her first name listed in a unique profile.
If you are receiving multiple copies of the same email, it because multiple members of your household share an email address on file. You can correct this by updating individuals' emails through out contact information update form.
