All new members are invited to bring their families to the Clubhouse for a casual gathering prior to the Opening Meeting. This is a nice opportunity to meet the Flag Officers, Board members, and Senior Staff, along with the other new members. Casual attire. |
| OPENING MEETING | 27 June, 1530 | SHYC Clubhouse | One of two annual meetings of the membership of the Club. Please join us on the terrace for an update on programs, operations, social events, finances and to officially open the season. |
| SUNDAY TEAS | Sundays starting 27 June, 1530 | SHYC Clubhouse | Following Sunday races, please join fellow members, young and old, for another Stage Harbor Yacht Club Tradition. Stop by the Clubhouse for a cup of tea and a light snack, as well as interesting conversation and fellowship. |
| 16th ANNUAL OPTI REGATTA | 9 July, Friday | SHYC | A Stage Harbor Yacht Club tradition. Young sailors are welcome to join with their friends for a day of racing against sailors from other clubs on the waters of Stage Harbor and Nantucket Sound. More details here |
| COCKTAILS WITH THE CRABS! AND AUCTION | 10 July, Saturday, 1800-2030 | Home of Mr. & Mrs. Rick Smith | All adult members are welcome to join together for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the lovely home of Rick and Kari Smith overlooking Oyster Pond. Come listen to some jazz and sample hors d’oeuvres provided by fellow members—and remember to bring one of your own (just remember to put your name on the bottom of the dish!). Coat and tie suggested for gentlemen, smart casual for ladies. |
| 47TH ANNUAL LUAU | 31 July, Saturday, 1230-1630 | Luau Beach (east side of cut) | One of the great events of our summer—bring the entire family to the inside of Harding’s Beach—east of the cut—for an afternoon of cooking out, family-oriented competition and fun. No boat? No worries—just show up at the end of Chief’s Pier at SHYC beginning at noon for a lift to the beach. The greased watermelon is back!! Bathing suits and shorts a must! |
| ANNUAL DANCE PARTY WITH CHATHAM BEACH AND TENNIS CLUB | 2 August, Monday, 1800-2000 | Chatham Beach and Tennis Club | All sailing school-age kids are welcome to join kids from the Beach Club for an evening of fun and dancing. This is becoming one of the high points of the junior summer calendar. Be sure to watch invitation for exact times for different age groups. Nice casual. |
| 4 TH ANNUAL CHIEF’S PIER LOBSTER BAKE | 24 July, Saturday, 1800-2200 | On the pier at SHYC | Come join fellow adult members of Stage Harbor Yacht Club and celebrate on Chief’s Pier with a real New England lobster bake—steamers, lobsters, corn on the cob and chowder. For those who prefer, chicken is available. Come watch the sunset and catch the cool southwest breeze. Please feel free to bring your own beverages. Look for your invitation in the mail and be sure to sign up quickly as this event is always a sell-out. Casual attire for all. |

SHYC Clubhouse | Please come and join our newest social tradition at Stage Harbor—our third and fourth ever Family Nights! A hot grill, condiments and mixers—as well as a guaranteed good time—await you and your family beginning at 1800. Bring your own food to grill and your own beverages and enjoy as the spectacular evening light falls on Stage Harbor. Casual attire for all. |
| COMMODORE’S BALL | 7 August, Saturday, 1830-2300 | Home of Judy Hoyt and Jim Goddard | Enjoy a family-oriented evening under a beautiful tent on the banks of Stage Harbor! Cocktails and dinner, along with dancing for all ages has made the Commodore’s Ball an end of summer tradition for generations. Come and cut the rug to great live music! Coat and tie suggested for gentlemen of all ages, smart casual for ladies of all ages. |
| HOVEY CUP | 21 & 22 August, Saturday, 0930-1200 and Sunday, 1430 | ASHYC | Come enjoy the fun—as a sailor or a spectator—for single-handed short-course racing in Stage Harbor. Junior and senior racing classes draw young and old. |
| CLOSING DAY AND ANNUAL MEETING | 22 August, Sunday, 1300 | SHYC Clubhouse | Second and final membership meeting of the year. Includes summary reports from officers, as well as awards ceremony for all sailors and racers. |
